Also known as the "when are we moving to Florida?" quilt. I just love the colors though ~ so Summery. I used the idea from the Strawberry Fields Bricks Quilt on Moda Bake Shop, but changed up the sizes a little. The white squares are 3" finished and the rectangles are 3" x 6" finished. The backing looks like it was meant to be for this quilt. Actually I bought it on sale a couple of years ago for $5 a yard. I had 6 yards knowing it would make a perfect backing some day.
I quilted it in wavy lines and swirls...
kind of giving the impression of sand and waves.

Love this quilt...really! The simplicity is so inviting, the colors unique and the workmanship to be praised! Thanks. I also love your daughter's states project!
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the quilt back. It coordinates beautifully with the fabric on the front. Love the wavy/swirly quilting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! And yes, that is THE perfect fabric for the back. Funny how those things work out. The waves and swirls were a fabulous choice for the quilting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the quilting lines.
ReplyDeleteThe colors do say summer! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnother Lovely Quilt! I'm smiling because this pattern from MBS is on my "short list" of future projects. I think it will be a good scrap buster. I hope mine turns out to be as beautiful as yours!
ReplyDeleteDelightfully summery!
