Scrappy Quilts and a book giveaway!

Thanks for reading along as I share all the projects in my new book. One of the interesting things about making quilts for a book is that you spend so much time with them - when you're done, you're so ready to ship them off and move on. But then about a year later, they come back and you fall in love all over again. Yes, I'm so happy with every quilt in this book.

Many of you have shared in my excitement and I so appreciate that. I have a couple more quilts to tell you about, but before I do that ~ how about a giveaway announcement?

Next Monday morning I'll randomly pick 2 names from the comments on this post. One international reader will receive an ebook and one US reader will receive a signed hard copy.

Who doesn't love a scrappy quilt? And who doesn't have some scraps to use up? Meet "Check". She's the perfect quilt for using all kinds of fabric. Coordinated or totally scrappy.

Here's an earlier version I did. It has more of a sweet, Springy look to it.

The last quilt in the book is called "Coming Together". It's made from lots of scrappy Flying Geese and  a fun larger scale print. I love this quilt, even though it seems a bit chaotic. Don't you think the holidays can be a bit chaotic in a happy way?

And an alternate version in one of my favorite combos ~ red and aqua.

So there you have it! A close up look at all the quilts in the book.

For a chance to win your own, leave a comment on this post. I'd love to know if you have a favorite quilt from the book; or what kind of sewing you're doing for Christmas; or what's your favorite Christmas fabric?

If you're an international reader, please note that in your comment - {I'd love to know where you're from} there will be 2 separate drawings. And please be sure there's an email address associated with your comment. I'll draw 2 winners Monday, September 30th at 8am. Good luck!!

  1. I've loved getting a look at all the quilts in your book. I don't usually gravitate towards holiday fabrics. So I have no favorite there. For Christmas this year, I'm hoping to complete a few bags, a couple quilts, and I am helping my girls make mini quilts for the grandmas. :)

  2. I just love your quilts and would love a copy of your book. Several of the quilts in it are on my "wanna do" list.

  20. Congrats on your book! I am so behind right now. I'm not even thinking Christmas yet. I am throwing together a Halloween quilt as we speak...or type...so that I can get started on my Christmas plans. It will be my first Christmas quilt so there is a lot of pressure. Hopefully I will get to choose a great one from your new book!

  24. So many fun patterns to choose from. I think your cover quilt Snowball Games would have to be one of my favourites. In the past my Chritsmas sewing has always tended to be smaller items like pillows, table runners and wall hangings that I could pull together quickly and make good numbers of for gifting. This year though I'm going to start sewing more for myself so I'll be making all sorts. I'll be throwing pinks and aquas in along with the more traditional colours. Thanks so much for the chance to win.

We are tempted by many quilt books for different reasons - often with that ONE quilt in it that you'd like to make, right? Yours is different as we are loving it all...I sought it out for Garden Lattice, but am really loving your cover quilt the best...beautiful simplicity, and I really can't wait to see it in different fabrics on Flicker! 141. Wonderful Book! I had to scroll way back in your blog to see other projects shared from this book. I have such a huge bin of Christmas fabrics. I especially like to find vintage Christmas in thrift stores or at estate sales. I have a few lovely pieces that would lose their vintage goodness if I added them to a quilt. So, I just keep setting those aside and someday I will have opportunity to use the collection in a wonderful way. There are a few patterns in this new book of yours that would do the job nicely!

  155. Congratulations on the book!!
I'm an international reader - from Australia. I have recently been doing some volunteer work overseas and only just arrived back home yesterday. If course the first order of business is to get sewing - I owe some family member's tree skirts I've been promising them for a few years, so that's what I'll be doing.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  157. I love all your quilt designs and am anxious to see your book :) I will be making 5 little girl matching nightgowns for Christmas! I think that will keep me busy :)

  158. I love all the quilts I've seen from the book - and my favorite holiday fabric line is all of them! I learned to love quilting from my Nannie who quilted in the Depression and used whatever she had - I inherited my love of scrappy quilts from her.
