First up, my sewing room has undergone a bit of a makeover. I had 2 machines and 2 cabinets, and have downsized to one of each. The result is a ton more space to move around and I was able to put my machine close to the windows. You can even see some of the beautiful Fall foliage out my window today!
We attended my nephew's wedding in NYC and I came home with an idea for a quilt for the couple. The pattern is Pow Wow by Cluck, Cluck, Sew and it's already in the quilting stage.
They got married in Brooklyn and I was excited to find some New York City fabric at The City Quilter to include in the quilt.
And I've finally cut into my Cotton + Steel! I'm making a simpler, fun variation of my Peppermint Float quilt from Simply Modern Christmas.
This one I'll blame on Lee {and my trip to Mood}...
Some knit fabrics for the Get Up and Go Skirt. Nervous and excited to start!
And I've been knitting. I picked up some yarn at Purlsoho and using their free pattern for a scarf. I've had to rip it out a couple of times, but a very wise knitter mentioned on Instagram that ripping out is part of knitting - so true.
I'm loving the relaxing feel of knitting and I may already have some new yarn on the way!
So that's what I'm up to on this beautiful Fall day! Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.
Wow, what a beautiful post-all the photos have such fantastic colors in them. This is the first time I've been on your site-I think I'll poke around a bit!
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty room! I could sit and sew there all day :)

I love your blog, the photos are so good and there is always something interesting to read. I am envious of your beautiful sewing space and really need to organise my own better (my husband has just bought a 1950's drapers cabinet for my fabric and I cannot wait for it to come). Visiting via WIP Wednesday
ReplyDeleteI want your sewing room.....so cute and clean...:) Green quilt as well. I really like that black and white that says I think Brooklyn.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty! The wedding quilt is very appealing- love the colors! And unknitting is definitely all part of the learning process! Enjoy the journey!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sewing space! You are working on so many pretty projects, they are like eye candy!
ReplyDeleteLove the Pow Wow quilts I've seen. That Brooklyn fabric is fun. And I like your cotton and steel blocks too. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty projects you have going here! I'm certain that you can't wait to sit in that sewing chair every day!
ReplyDeleteI am envious of your space. I sew in a dark basement, but I am grateful to have space to sew.
ReplyDeleteYour space looks beautiful. I would like to have a room for sewing and a room for knitting, but that is probably excessive. You visited two of my favorite places in New York--I try to visit them both when I visit my daughter. Did you buy any Liberty of London fabric?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the next blog tour of the sewing room! Your knitting is gorgeous - love that yarn - the texture is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love it all! Pow Wow is a great quilt! I love your SEW sign!
