It's been rolling around in my head ever since, contemplating colors/fabrics and I knew at some point I had to give it a try. There's a bit of fear working without a pattern - no picture to refer to and no way to know what the final outcome will be. But I went for it in a combination of navy, gray, aqua and mint. And here's the result...
The block is really so simple, but makes a nice graphic impact.
I think you could really play around with different settings and configurations for the block.
You'll find a similar pattern here.
Lovely, thank you, I love the Chevron with a Twist quilt!
ReplyDeleteExcellent quilt I think. Call it Arrow Flowers!
ReplyDeleteYor quilt, both the sping colors and the design, reminds me of 'Tulips': Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI would call it "Simply Fletching" - as a play on the word fetching (because it is!), and because it looks just like the fletching end of an arrow. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteFetching Fletching was my thought, too. Very nice design!
DeleteLOVE it! Looks like Leaflets to me.
ReplyDeleteProof that great quilt inspiration can come from anywhere! Great design.
ReplyDeleteI love it! (You are so creative). How about calling it "Fly By Night"?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking "Arrowsmith" because it's all about arrows, but it does take skill to make them, thus the "smith."
ReplyDeleteYou have one of those minds that can put an idea into reality! Thanks so much for sharing your talent. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you've used, and the stripe in the middle makes it very elegant-looking.
ReplyDeleteThey remind me of Jarts (remember those?) so that's my suggestion.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of darts, specifically Lawn Darts.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! thanks for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Thanks for sharing😄
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern, beautiful!!! And the colors remind me of spring!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the content above that the design looks like a tulip, but tulips that go on forever. For this reason, I would name the quilt "infinite blooms." It's a lovely color combination. It would be fun to play with the tulip idea and do green and pink or white. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern, it reminds me of vines or the Beanstalk from Jack and the Beanstalk.
ReplyDeleteVery pleasing pattern! I like the added dimension of narrow center of the chevron blocks! Great colors, too!
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful, and how kind of you to share it. You could call it Sprout!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fabulous! How about Broken Arrow?
ReplyDeleteI thought of the feather end of an arrow when I saw this. The name for that is fetching…no wait! I misread it and it's called fletching. I like Fetching better as a name for your pattern. Love it! Thanks for working it out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this design.
ReplyDeleteThe colors remind of the ocean/beach. I would call it Sea Grass.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of the fletchings on the end of arrows, but I don't know how you could get a nice quilt name out of that. It's really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's terrific. Good job on working out the block. Reminds me of flocks of geese flying south. How about Migration?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Love the colors and geometric shapes!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this and I can't wait to make one for myself. I also really like all the fetching/fletching suggestions.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the free block. I'd call it "Katniss Loves Quilts" after the lead character in The Hunger Games!

Very cute block! I like "fletching" for the name. My husband is into archery and makes his own fletchings. That's totally what it looks like!
ReplyDeleteI love this! all of your quilts are so fresh and pretty...great colors and clean piecing. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI love this so much, love the colors, love the design, just love love love it!
ReplyDeleteVery clever graphic zigzag. Thank you. Marilynn
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern. Is there any way you would share how exactly you made it?
