I needed to finish hand stitching one side of the binding as the yearly calendar rolled over.
So here is Shimmer, a pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew...
I started with my stack of Hello Darling by Bonnie and Camille and added some fabrics from some earlier lines. The background is Cloud 9 Cirrus Solid in Shadow. It's similar to a shot cotton with a color variation in the crosswise and lengthwise threads.
I love the take on this traditional block. Although it has a lot of pieces it was very easy to construct.
For the quilting I went with a simple grid. It's another one with a busy patchwork pattern and I thought simple would be better. I used a light gray Aurifil thread.
The backing is the orange peel pattern from Hello Darling with the aqua stripe for a binding.
Although I love a white background, the gray was a nice change. May have to try it again!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great finish. I have seen this pattern and couple of times now and it seems to be calling my name. The grey was a great choice to balance out the sweetness of the other colors. So pretty.
