Your favorite fat quarter pack would be really useful for three of the quilts in my new book, Simply Modern Christmas.
First up, Garden Lattice...
This pattern looks fantastic in so many color combinations! Here's my original one in grays and yellows...
I recently made a new one using a Nordika fat quarter pack - the line by Jeni Baker from Art Gallery Fabrics. I changed it a little by putting the blocks on point and adding setting triangles in gray. I'll show you more of this one once it's quilted!
"Joy" is also made with fat quarters...
And the first one I did using primarily Meadowsweet by Sandi Henderson (the blocks are set straight here instead of on point)...
And finally "Argyle"...
Here's my "Wild Child Argyle", with it's single rebel block...
You'll also notice I changed the colors and used white and black, creating an "X" effect across the quilt. I love how changing up the fabrics a bit can change the whole look of the quilt!
So grab a fat quarter pack {yes, you have to open it} and get sewing. Don't forget to add anything you make from the book to the flickr group!
These are so pretty that I want to stop what I'm doing and dig in to my special fat quarters. Thanks for the inspiring trunk show and lecture at the guild on Wed. night.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilts! I've never seen a Garden Lattice quilt that I didn't love!
ReplyDeleteI am planning on a Christmas version of garden lattice and figured out that a jelly roll and a charm pack will be enough for a lap quilt. Can't wait to get started! Your's is one of my favorite blogs. I always love your fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt .....love them.

ReplyDeleteGreat post (as always)! Love your mini quilt show.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably in the minority as I only own two FQ stacks. One was a gift and the other was an enormous bargain that I couldn't pass up. Thanks for the reminder that all of the pretty, pretty fabric is TO BE USED :-)
