As pretty as a quilt...

I finished sewing my Dresden blocks together today, but I'm adding a small white border. Once that's done I'll have some pictures.

In the mean time I thought I'd share some photos from the Flower Fields in San Diego. Not a large garden, compared to our Missouri Botanical Garden, but certainly breathtaking!

That's the ocean in the background!
The kids even had a great time. They were given a "map" and told to find the stamping stations to mark their maps. Along with a maze and a playground - there was fun for everyone!
It made me want to put my Mother's Day gift to use when I got home!
We also made a trip to Maisonette and found not only some new fabric, but some new friends and bloggers. As we were shopping I overheard a customer talking about a great modern quilt shop in Kansas City. My ears perked up and when I asked her about it, I learned that the 2 ladies in the shop were modern quilters from Kansas City. Yes, it's a small world and you can read about it here. There are also some great pictures of the shop here.

You really need to drop in on my new Kansas City friends ~ Shea from The Empty Bobbin and Mary Anne from Quilt Logic: It's a Process.

Speaking of new blogs, Shannon is blogging at Fabric Nosherie as she plans on opening a modern quilt store in Webster Groves, a suburb of St. Louis. I'm so excited and plan on keeping her in business!!

  1. Wouldn't it be fun to go visit the KC chapter?

  2. Thanks for the "shout out" Cindy! Looks like I'm headed back to San Diego for work...but I'm afraid that there will be no time for a trip to Maisonnette. In fact, I'm thinking that there will be no time for fun of any sort! :(

It still makes me smile to think that I ran into my favorite blogger...in Oceanside, CA of all places! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
