Marcelle Medallion finish...

I'm home from snuggling babies (it was a tough job, but someone had to do it :) The night before I left, I finished the binding on my Marcelle Medallion found in the book Liberty Love.

I have to say this is one of my all-time favorite quilts. I loved making it, especially working with a big pile of scrap fabrics.

With all the different blocks and borders in this quilt, I had fun using a variety of quilting designs. I was really happy with how the flying geese turned out using a half dogwood quilting pattern.

I tried some loopy-loops and wood grain patterns from Angela Walter's book.

I even added some hand quilting in a few areas...

And here's the back. A combo of Charleston Farmhouse, a black and white chevron and one of the first pieces from the DS collection for Joann's.

I really need to find a place to hang this quilt. It's just too lovely to be folded up in a closet! . . . Cindy

  7. I love - LOVE - this quilt. I loved it when I first saw it in the book, and I have loved each of the versions I've seen online... but your quilt is the one that has me thinking I have to make this quilt now. NOW!

It's gorgeous and your fabric choices - scraps?!? - suit it perfectly. I agree, you need to find a perfect place to hang it so you can enjoy it every day. If you can't find that place... I think you should send it to me. I have just the spot for it. :)
