Hexagon Quilt

I originally saw this quilt in the April issue of "Quilt" magazine. Loved it - but when I got the issue home I found that it used templates and applique for the center hexagon. So I started sewing strips and cutting them up with my 60 degree ruler - not knowing what size it would be or what I would end up with!
Most of the fabric is Spa by Rosemarie Lavin. It does have that soft "spa" feel!

  2. This is a beautiful quilt. I've been tempted to buy some Spa, but never ended up getting any. Seeing it in this quilt makes me want to get some right away. Beautiful!

  4. Your quilt is lovely. I have a stack of Spa waiting for the perfect project. I think it's funny that you added some Joel Dewberry (Brown/Green print) because when I saw it I thought this belongs with the Spa line.

  6. It is gorgeous. The fabric is beautiful.
Thanks for the idea of a plain quilt cover and adding a lap quilt. The plain quilt was better quality fabric too so I bought it.
