Announcing a Rin QAL!

I'm back today with some exciting news! (Be sure to read to the bottom for a discount) Cheryl Brickey from Meadow Mist Designs and I discovered a few months ago that we both wanted to make a Rin Quilt in 2017. And of course, we decided it would be fun to do together, but then, even more fun if some of you would join in!

Here's why I think you should join us:

  • Number One, it's a super cool, modern appliqué pattern by the amazing Carolyn Friedlander.
  • By quilting along with the rest of us, you'll be so motivated, I know you'll finish at least one block.
  • Even if you've never appliquéd before, it's a great pattern to start with and we'll be giving you tips and answering questions along the way. (This is Cheryl's first hand appliqué project!)
  • It's almost Summer and a great time to have a portable project.
Have I convinced you?
How about the fact that this one is slow, casual and low stress QAL.
Okay, even better - there are prizes that we'll be announcing soon!

To be eligible for a prize, all you have to complete is one appliqué block. It doesn't even need to be quilted.

Our start official date is May 17th and we'll end on July 5th with a parade and prizes.

You have about 2 weeks to gather your supplies. Carolyn is offering a discount on the pattern for the QAL. Use the code RinQAL to get 20% off the Rin PDF pattern in Carolyn's Shop.

Please share your progress on social media using the hashtag #RinAlong

Hope you'll join us!

  5. Yes, I am like Thelma above. Tempted and absolutely getting this pattern.
I am taking on too much over here with my 93 year old daddy, I love him, and blessed to have grand babies just miles away and I have a habit of working on too many sewing projects (I have three design walls- don't tell anyone)

  7. I can't wait to see this one - your applique is amazing, and I will be looking forward to your tips along the way. I have been ever so slowly working on some hand-applique blocks for my Austin Bluebird Sampler, but I have to admit that not being very confident about what I am doing is definitely holding me up from finishing a beautiful quilt.
