2015 Review and Best of...

2015 has been quite a year for me. Hard to believe that 1 year ago today, we had no plans to leave Missouri.

And as much as I miss so many friends from St Louis, especially the quilting kind, our move to South Carolina has the perfect decision for us as this point in our lives.

I felt like I hadn't accomplished as much as previous years, certainly rightly so, but as it turns out the quilting projects have been fruitful.

The final count is in and I finished 24 quilting projects. Three of them quite small -tablerunners and wall quilts that were gifted. Four of them small lap quilts, and the remaining 17 larger quilts in my go-to size of about 60"x72".

I thought it would be fun this year to join Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs and share my top 5 blog posts. These are the posts that got the most views according to Blogger stats.

5 - Playground
This wasn't one of my favorite quilts, but it definitely beat out several others in viewership. It may be because it was the last quilt before my Summer hiatus!

4 - Tucker Prairie
No surprise here - one of my favs!

3 - Irish Chainish
All Anna Maria Horner fabrics. I love this one!

2 - Charley Harper quilt
This one is hanging in my home and probably my favorite for the year!

1 - New Design
The Arrow quilt was one that was on my drawing board for months. Glad I finally made it!

2015 has been a stressful year. I'm grateful to have the craft that I love so much to turn to. It truly helps me stay calm, think and appreciate the beauty around me. I thank each of you for being in this Bloggy space with me. I love sharing my work, reading your comments and knowing that we share this love of fabric and quilting.

I'll be back on January 4th to start our Outlined Plus Quilt Along. I'm so happy that many of you are joining me. Have a Happy Happy New Year!!!

  4. I can't believe all you've finished given the fact that you picked up and moved across the country. Of all of your gorgeous creations, my top picks are the Tucker Prairie quilt and (surprise, surprise!) the Charley Harper quilt. I wish you all good things in 2016, my friend! Looking forward to the Outlined Plus Quilt Along. It'll be like kinda-sorta having you back here in Missouri.

  5. Happy New Year to you too Cindy. All your quilts are beautiful, but I especially love the Charlie Harper one too. I have been an admirer of his work for many years and was happy to see fabric inspired by his artwork. We miss you here in MO. Let us know if you are back in our area for a visit in the future.

  14. I love the Arrow quilt. I saw on Instagram that you planned a tutorial for the block. I don't think I ever saw it and would love to see a quickie tutorial. Maybe just the dimensions of the cut pieces? Thanks!
